They guided the lands for thousands of years, and almost all cultures of Imythess had some version of the gods in their religions.

| - The Ancient Gods, or Ancient Ones, were the first beings given divine power. There were several gods, how many, no one knows for sure, but there was at least one for each elemental domain. Their names have been lost in time. They were given power by the two Beings who created the world of Imythess. They guided the lands for thousands of years, and almost all cultures of Imythess had some version of the gods in their religions. When the War for Imythess began, they could do nothing but watch as the lands who were once peaceful, start to war against each other. Those who fought against the land Chaon, who started the war, lost. The Ancient Gods allowed these refugees into the sacred land where the divine had lived. The Ancient Ones had learned that it was not Chaon's own fault, and that a Dark Being had planted greed within their hearts, leading them to attack their neighbors. Before the war could reach the divine land's borders, a Treaty was made, to protect the refugees. All the Ancient Gods signed it and so did the Dark Being. After all were safe, the gods began to fade away. No one truly knows what happened to them, or when most of them left. But what is known, is that one of them stayed long enough to find a suitable mortal who could comprehend to power of the gods. This mortal was the Moon Elf Ethiral tel'Lassie, and it was he would lead the next generation of divine.
