Irving Morrell (b. 1891) was a career soldier in the United States Army. After suffering an injury early in the Great War, Morrell became the United States' expert on barrels, becoming a critical part of his country's victory in the Great War. Despite his expertise on barrels he did not make many friends in the United States General Staff and so was only slowly promoted. Indeed, it was only after the Confederate States attempted to assassinate him early in the Second Great War that he was promoted to brigadier general. With that, he became for all intents and purposes, the hero of the Second Great War, overseeing the offensive that broke the CSA's back.
