Following the 2008-2009 season, Arsene chose to sign the two-way contract with Edmonton in the hope of earning some playing time in the NHL. That hope was realized when he was called up for a two-game stint in late 2009. He was later recalled on an emergency basis on March 22, 2010, finishing out the rest of the 2009-2010 season with Edmonton. He spent the 2009–10 AHL season season as the captain of the Springfield Falcons, wearing number 29.
