In the instance of the Battle of Hoth, the code was "K-one-zero, all troops disengage." Omega Signal was also used by small-unit commanders in the field for the same purpose. Leaders of such units as starfighter squadrons could use the command to order an immediate withdrawal of their command, or to alert them to an ambush or that their cover had been blown.
