The RGA42TZ features an arched-top mahogany body with binding bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include the newly introduced Edge Zero II double locking tremolo bridge; dual, covered Ibanez active CAP-LZ humbucking pickups and a locking nut. A special feature is the Active EQ preamp which activates a mid-cut. Similar models are the RGA42TFMZ with a flamed maple top, the RGA42TZE with EMG pickups and the hard-tailed RGA42. The RGA42TZ was discontinued after 2012.
