Zanar is the name of a blitzball commentator mentioned at the beginning of Final Fantasy X. He retrospectively talks about the loss of Jecht in Zanarkand that he and his son, Tidus, inhabited. In the Japanese version he is voiced by Junichi Suwabe. Zanar himself features in a commentary which is ongoing whilst the player controls Tidus towards the Zanarkand Dome. He talks of his experiences watching Jecht play blitzball, conversing about him with his father, and the Jecht Memorial Cup, in which Tidus plays. His vocal inflection is similar to that of Auron.

Il était rentré chez son père, son plus grand fan, et ils avaient parlé de Jecht toute la nuit. Il se demande ensuite si le fils de Jecht, devenu rapidement le numéro 1 de son équipe, va réaliser le tir légendaire de son père.
