  • Colin George (born 20th September 1929 in Pembroke, Wales) is an actor who founded the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. He appeared on Coronation Street between August and September 1974 as Jimmy Graham, and his other television credits include Poldark, Soldier Soldier and Doctors. The character Jimmy Graham, a property developer from the South of England, came up to Weatherfield to expand his empire, met and fell in love with Rita Littlewood and tried to lure her away from the Street. In the last episode with Jimmy, his plans were foiled, when a romantic lunch with Rita was interrupted by Jimmy's wife and two children. Actor Colin George experienced one of the first cases of public outrage at the behaviour of a fictional character - often approached in public by angry Coronation Street fans.
