  • "Why am I here, your grace? I had no part in any contract Nyall made with you."
  • "This isn't about some contract, is it? You're trying to stop Nyall."
  • "This is a misunderstanding. I'm sure Nyall has an explanation."
  • "Nyall, is this true? What contract did you have with Volantis?"
  • One of Volantis's three triarchs looks down at you and Nyall. "You had a contract with us, Nyall [Bastard Surname]. You are in breach of our agreement."
  • The triarch glances over you. "All his men are bound by Nyall's word." He turns to Nyall. "By Volantene law, your life and your fleet is forfeit."
  • Nyall struggles to speak through a swollen mouth. "Our contract expired before I left for Qarth. I declined to renew it." The triarch frowns.
