It is still carried by the Panavia Tornado ADV (AKA- the Tornado F3 in Royal Air Force service) fighter aircraft. It is a all-weather, day and night, beyond-visual-range engagement capability. It was flight tested on a Blackburn Buccaneer and first flown in a Tornado F.2 in the June of 1981.
