Later, he turns up drunk and Marlon furiously tells him he doesn't care if Shadrach drank himself to death. Shadrach immediately buys a six pack of beer. While he is walking over a footbridge, he staggers in pain caused by his liver condition and drops his cans in the river. Whilst trying to retrieve them, he loses his balance due to another sharp pain from his liver and collapses. He is then found by Marlon and Rhona, and is dragged out of the water.
