Blairbeth is a small housing estate in the Rutherglen, near Glasgow. It is bordered by Wardlawhill to the north, Burnside to the east, Fernhill to the south and Glasgow to the west. The eastern part of Blairbeth is the oldest part, with properties dating back to Victorian times in the form of villas and tenements. This was expanded on in the inter war years and many semi detached and cottage flat homes were erected. West of Hillend Road is lies the post war housing scheme, part of which was built by the Glasgow City Council as the estate was part of the city until 1996, when Rutherglen became a town in it's own right. This post war scheme contains tenements and terraced homes as well as four small tower blocks:
