Once established in Amerika, Jesús/Bruce Allan made a career playing little league baseball. Suffering a Peter Pan complex, he refused to grow up and kept playing little league even after he was too old. He quickly became a star player and a national celebrity. Going down the spiral of illegitimate little-league accomplishments, he began to use steroids and went on record for pitching the only two perfect games in little league history. He even met the president. Eventually his dirty laundry was discovered, tragically at the same time the scandal about him being to old and using steroids became public.

Els seus habitants reben el nom de jesusencs. Està situat a la riba dreta de l'Ebre, 2 km al nord-oest de la ciutat de Tortosa. Des del juny de l'any 1994 està constituït en Entitat municipal descentralitzada (EMD), gaudint d'una certa autonomia de gestió respecte al govern del municipi pel que fa referència a algunes competències. La seua població s'ha dedicat tradicionalment a l'agricultura. Des del 1996 s'hi organitza la Fira de l'Oli de les Terres de l'Ebre. També s'hi fa la Fira de Joan Cid i Mulet.
