Put this match on a bracket any time before Luigi kicks Zero's face in, and most people would tell you Kirby was the favorite without a second thought. But after the Zero collapse, Kirby's lackluster win over Prince and the increasing likelihood of SFF going in Luigi's favor, it was difficult to imagine Luigi losing this match going in.

  • Put this match on a bracket any time before Luigi kicks Zero's face in, and most people would tell you Kirby was the favorite without a second thought. But after the Zero collapse, Kirby's lackluster win over Prince and the increasing likelihood of SFF going in Luigi's favor, it was difficult to imagine Luigi losing this match going in. For the first 30 minutes of the match, everything was up in the air. The two characters went even for a few minutes, then Luigi managed a lead of 77. Kirby cut it down a bit, but then Luigi took off FTW at the 35 minute update. His lead went from 37 to 99, and then to 155 five minutes later. While it's usually stupid to call matches that early when they've been close, comebacks in SFF matches are almost impossible; usually the true colors of a fanbase will show in kind no matter how close a match is. Ergo, Luigi won a close match that wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates. Kirby wasn't in this thing after 35 minutes. This was also the last proof anyone really needed to know that the Dream Division last year was a total fluke; Kirby rSFFd Bowser, and probably by a good amount. The only issue remaining after his loss to Luigi is how this match would have looked without SFF, which may be an issue when people do their brackets next season.=
