The SV470 features a mahogany body bolted to a maple Viper neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez single-coil and a synchronized tremolo bridge with gold finish and Gotoh locking tuning machines. In 1995 the version of the SV470 for the US market got a new tremolo and pickups. This was the last year this model was avaliable in the US. The specs were unchanged in other markets. The SV420FM is a similar model with a flamed maple top and without the middle single coil pickup.
