For a time, Arkayd was a subsidiary of The 12 Colonies, which later became the Chiss Ascendancy. During this period, Jonas Randle became the Director and CEO of AAI, and took the company to new heights of success. After the assassination of Isoldor Storm, the leader of the Chiss Ascendancy, and amidst the chaos that ensued, Director Randle managed to keep his employees and most of the company intact and safe, and even found the means to allow Arakyd to survive without the assistance of another government. Seeking to insulate the company and its staff from the possibility of such actions having this kind of dramatic effect again, Director Randle moved the entire company to the Boordii System in Sumitra, in an attempt to rebuild Arakyd and provide for its future.
