  • As any true simian knows, the Planet of the Apes mythos is rife with inconsistencies, logistical improbabilities, continuity gaffs, and plot holes so gaping, one could pilot the Icarus through it. The purpose of this page is to establish a list of essays, which addresses these issues, and through deductive reasoning, constructs a theory as to how each article either works, or does not work, within the scope of the greater Planet of the Apes mythology.

  • With Socrates' death, the Athenians believed that they had curbed this dangerous rise in independent thought, but speculation quickly spread. Alexander the Great, whose every waking minute was plagued by wondering what Indians looked like, quickly took over the world. Rome too succumbed to speculation, largely due to Archimedes in the city of Syracuse. In flagrant disregard for state-approved bath-filling levels, Archimedes discovered that his body displaced a volume of water all over the floor. The city government attempted to prevent him speculating as to why with a slippery-tile-related serious brain injury, but news had already reached Rome and with it came an unprecedented age of speculatory intrigue. Nothing was as it seemed; accordingly, Rome's tyrants changed roughly every six days. Rome's eventual fall would come because, due to speculation, the Romans ran out of citizens to murder.
All issues should be brought to this article's Talk page first, where it can be examined and analyzed in detail. Upon peer review, it will then be decided whether the issue is suitable for inclusion in the category. Once approved, editors are encouraged to create an article compiling as much information as possible with regards to the selected topic. The essay will then be added to a growing list of material on this page. Be aware, that this page is not to be used for personal Fanwanking. All theories must fit within an agreeable framework based on information supplied by the various resources. Extensive fact checking is encouraged, and all authors will be expected to submit a list of references that they used to develop their theory. Although the objective of this page is to establish some sort of reconciliation with the various plot contrivances from Planet of the Apes – the material submitted to this page should not be regarded as "canonical" and is not suitable for inclusion within the primary body text of individual articles. However, brief summaries of speculative material may be included under the Notes heading of page articles, with a link to an existing essay.

The word, as defined by dictionary.com: spec-u-la-tion, noun, means: * The contemplation or consideration of some subject: (i.e. To engage in speculation on humanity's ultimate destiny.). * A single instance or process of consideration. * A conclusion or opinion reached by such contemplation. * Conjectural consideration of a matter; conjecture or surmise: (i.e. A report based on speculation rather than facts.). * Engagement in business transactions involving considerable risk but offering the chance of large gains, esp. trading in commodities, stocks, etc., in the hope of profit from changes in the market price. * A speculative commercial venture or undertaking. -Mogturmen 22:57, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
