  • The Constitution of the Federation of Disparu (French: Constitution de la Fédération du Disparu) was the supreme law of Disparu. The Constitution was also referred to as the Bill of Federation (French: Déclaration de la Fédération) during its drafting. It was the foundation and source of the legal authority underlying the existence of Disparu and its Government. The Constitution was ratified and promulgated by the Disparu Committee on 17 February 2009. The Constitution was written in both English and French. It was divided into three sections. The first section was essentially Disparu's declaration of independence from Canada, and outlined the reasons and arguments for doing so. The second section establishes the legal framework that would form the Government of Disparu itself. The third section, sometimes cited as a separate document known as the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, lists the rights and responsibilities of all people and citizens residing within Disparu. Due to the time constraints that surrounded the writing of the Constitution, many sections of the document were unintentionally unambiguous, resulting in the formation of loopholes within the document. The Constitution was also criticized for apparently consolidating power to the members of the Disparu Committee; for instance, the position of Monarch, created by Caitlin Darach to secure her power following the formation of Disparu, was found to be unnecessary by the general public, who wanted a more republican government. The former Government of Disparu had been accused of exploiting these loopholes, or even outright ignoring the Constitution, in order to avoid red tape and accountability. This criticism eventually caused the fall of Disparu, when the Constitution, and the institutions it established, was formally dissolved by Lance Pikachurin after a referendum on the Constitution's dissolution. In order to address the problems of the Constitution, a National Convention was held during the Second Quiet Revolution. The result of their work gave birth to the Basic Laws of Disparu.
