Sidney Arthur Boyd (20 July 1880 - 2 November 1966) was a surgeon and local politician active in the Hampstead area. Born in Bedford, he received his medical training at Charing Cross Hospital and the London Hospital. He qualified as MRCS, LRCP in 1902 and MB from the University of London, going on to achieve a masters in 1907. His first post was a surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital in 1906. During the First World War he held a commission as a major in the Royal Army Medical Corps, and was twice mentioned in dispatches.

He qualified as MRCS, LRCP in 1902 and MB from the University of London, going on to achieve a masters in 1907. His first post was a surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital in 1906. During the First World War he held a commission as a major in the Royal Army Medical Corps, and was twice mentioned in dispatches. From 1919-25 he was lecturer in applied anatomy at King's College London. He was also a consultant to a number of hospitals and to the London County Council. In 1922 he became member of Hampstead Borough Council, he was appointed Mayor of Hampstead in 1938. From the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 Boyd was reappointed seven times in a row, serving until 1945. He was subsequently created an honorary freeman of the borough. He married Violet Evageline Fox in 1910, and the couple had four children. He died aged 86, and was buried in Hampstead Cemetery.
