| - The first thing you should do when starting a new village is build your Main Building to at least level 5, and an Embassy(only required to build the Palace and to join an alliance, so you don't need an Embassy in all your villages) to level 1, thus allowing you to build a Residence or Palace. If it's your first village, you may want to build the Residence, because your first village is already your capital and if you feel the need to move your capital someplace else, you can simply build the palace in the new village instead of having to tear it down in your first village. This allows you to expand faster since the Residence costs less to build than the Palace, although it contains less expansion slots than the latter, since it allows you to expand with only 2 new villages, one at 10 and 2

Depending on your play strategy, you can either raid the resources from others or protect your production from others. If you are an attacker its easier for you to build but if you are a defender and others are attacking you, you need to worry about hiding your troops, your extra resources and how to stop others from thinking about attacking you, so take those things into consideration when deciding to expand.
