Serge Joseph Bernier (born April 29, 1947) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who played seven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Quebec Nordiques. He also played six seasons in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for Quebec. He was the first draft pick in Philadelphia Flyers history, drafted 1st, 5th overall, in the 1967 NHL Amateur Draft. Bernier stayed with the Nordiques as they joined the NHL in 1979, He retired in 1981. He played in 302 NHL games and scored 78 goals and 119 assists.

  • Serge Joseph Bernier (born April 29, 1947) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who played seven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Quebec Nordiques. He also played six seasons in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for Quebec. He was the first draft pick in Philadelphia Flyers history, drafted 1st, 5th overall, in the 1967 NHL Amateur Draft. He played junior hockey with the Sorel Black Hawks of the Provincial Junior League (Quebec). After the Flyers drafted him, he spent the next three seasons with the Quebec Aces of the AHL. Bernier scored 23 goals as a rookie with the Flyers in 1970-71. The next season he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in the deal that brought Ross Lonsberry and Bill Flett to the Flyers. In 1973-74 he jumped to the Quebec Nordiques of the WHA. He was a second all-star in 1974-75 and won the WHA Playoff MVP in 1976-77 when the Nordiques won the Avco World Trophy. Bernier stayed with the Nordiques as they joined the NHL in 1979, He retired in 1981. He played in 302 NHL games and scored 78 goals and 119 assists.
