The 2007 Pocono 500 was a Nextel Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Pocono Raceway on June 10, 2007. Jeff Gordon, for the second straight year, suffered major brake problems in the event. But on a season when Gordon had the unlikeliest of luck, it didn't seem to matter. Gordon's pit strategy put him in the lead a few laps past halfway, when a major rain storm gave Gordon barely enough time to squeak out the win over Newman. Only 106 laps were completed in the event. Gordon also had a massive points lead, now 242 markers ahead of Matt Kenseth (9th). Stats {|- style="text-align: center;"
