  • Metsumi was born as the daughter to Sesshirō Ōtsukami and Haru Hanabara sometime after the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War occurred. During her birth, Haru suffered complications during the delivery and as a result, died from maternal death, leaving Sesshirō to take care of the infant Metsumi for most of her life. At a young age, Sesshirō discovered that whatever Metsumi touched rotted away or in the case of living beings, suffed extreme illness before dying relatively quickly. He initially tried to keep this fact a secret from the other villagers, but one day she accidentally touched a merchant during a stroll with her father, killing him instantly. The event caught attention and made Metsumi ostracised among the villagers, to the point of parents forbidding their children to play with her or entering the academy due to the danger she possessed with her power.
