  • It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he wakes them up with a surprise, fresh goose eggs. A man with horseshoes accidentally drops one onto Joxer and his face lands in the now broken eggs. After the three of them leave the barn, Joxer goes one way and Xena and Gabrielle go another. Xena and Gabrielle pass two men fighting, but move along only to double back when they here Joxer getting involved. When they reach him, they find him wounded and he dies in Gabrielle’s arms. Xena and Gabrielle burn his body that evening. Gabrielle is ridden with guilt over his death, but Xena tells her that there is no one to blame. She then tells Gabrielle to sleep. The two lay down on the ground right by the lake in which is carrying the raft where Joxer’s body is burning. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he wakes them up. Xena is startled by seeing him. She is happy to see him and passes his death of as a dream. A man with horseshoes accidentally drops one onto Joxer’s foot. Xena then realizes it was not a dream. As the three leave the barn again, Xena tells them about what happened. When neither Joxer nor Gabrielle understand what Xena is trying to say about her living the same day before, Xena then tries to stop the fight that killed Joxer. Gabrielle and Joxer stray away when Xena is talking to the fighting men and Joxer manages to make someone angry. When Xena hears the commotion, she comes running. She stops another fight between two other men and everyone in the village becomes angry at her. When Xena comes back to the barn, she sees the stable man (the same man who dropped the horseshoes on Joxer) crying on the ground. He tells them that the men came looking for Xena and he would not tell which horse was hers so they killed all of the horses. Xena then runs into the barn and finds Argo dead. She then burns Argo’s body on the same lake where she burned Joxer the previous same day. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena wakes up and is happily surprised to see Argo standing in her stall, very much alive. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are and he wakes them up with a surprise, fresh goose eggs. Xena tells Joxer to move, when he doesn’t, a man with horseshoes accidentally drops one onto Joxer and his face lands in the now broken eggs. Gabrielle tries to guess what is wrong with Xena and Xena tries to explain to her, again, how the day is repeating and only she can seem to remember. Joxer then tries to make a plan to stop the blood shed the villagers seem to want. He says that the three of them should become both sides enemy so they would have to work together. The two men start to fight like they did the first two times that repeating day, and Xena listens to what they are fighting about this time. She hears them arguing about a man who got hurt and Xena decides that the next time the day starts over that she must find the man who gets injured and stop that from happening so the other men will not have a reason to fight. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he comes in to wake them up only to be knocked down by a running Xena. As an old man is walking down the road, a fast moving horse drawn cart is heading in the same path he is. Neither of them see each other. Xena runs and makes it to the area just as the cart is about to hit the old man. She pulls him to safety. Xena then once again tried to get Joxer and Gabrielle to understand about her repeating the day. Xena then sees the two men fighting again, this time over something meaningless. Xena then realizes that they will fight no matter what. She sends Joxer and Gabrielle away from the fight and she stops the men. When she sees that they went into the alley where the trouble happened the second time that day, Xena rushes to them, only to see that Gabrielle has died. Xena tells Joxer it has to be ok and they burn her body. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena wakes up and already is worried that they day may not have repeated itself when she needed it the most. She reaches over to the pile of straw next to her and feels inside. She feels Gabrielle and excitedly pulls the cranky riser to her feet. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are hugging. He stops, throws the eggs and declares, “Group hug!” and runs to them to join in on the hug. The two quickly make him get off, but he goes in for another hug. Xena goes through the whole thought process again and Joxer adds that it might be the rooster. Xena then promptly kills the rooster with her chakram. When night comes, Xena lays down in the barn, almost satisfied that it may have worked. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena hears it crowing as she wakes up and screams in anger and annoyance. Xena is then walking with Joxer and Gabrielle and she tells them to stay put without explanation. She then goes off to try to fix everything on her own. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena wakes up quickly and goes to stop the first fight. When she does that, she manages to stop the second fight, only for Gabrielle to tell her there was yet another fight on the other side of the village. Xena then finds an empty bottle of a lethal poison. She then lets Joxer be the enemy of his enemy like he wants. Joxer then insults them to have them try to work together. Almost the whole town at once takes aim on Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer with bows and arrows. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he wakes them up. Xena takes her chakram and throws it right into Joxer, killing him. Gabrielle is stunned at this and Xena only lays back down. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena is finishing putting her armor on and walks out of the barn, leaving a tied up and gagged Gabrielle and Joxer behind. Xena goes to an apothecary and asks about the empty poison bottle she found. He then tells her that it’s missing and assures her he didn’t sell it. Xena then goes searching for who may have stolen it. She then goes to the village’s midwife in hopes she is a gossip and likes to talk about the villagers. The two bond and talk. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena is already up and smiles and she shoves Joxer out of her way. Xena once again tried to explain what is happening and doesn’t pause to let them ask questions. She then stops the first fight only for another to erupt right next to them. She then tries to get the second fighting men to stop fighting, telling them that they are half brothers and because of that they should not be fighting. The first fighting men do not stop. The one man says his father almost got ran over that morning because the other’s were careless. Xena then tells him that his father almost got run over because he is almost completely deaf and couldn’t hear any warnings. The older men then come in and tell her to stop. She then tells him the story of how his wife and son almost died the night his son was born. She then tells him that his enemies' wife was the one that saved them. The older men agree to talk. They shake hands and the village cheers. Gabrielle and Joxer congratulate Xena on fixing it all and they go off to celebrate. Meanwhile, a young couple are holding each other. The young woman is crying and holding the empty bottle of poison. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Xena wakes up and throws a fit, kicking and screaming in anger and annoyance that it didn’t work. She then goes through the whole thought process with a stunned and silent Gabrielle and Joxer listening. Xena then realizes she is missing something and figures out what it is. She goes and finds the young woman with the empty poison bottle. The girl says she drank it in the morning. Her boyfriend says that he is the one making it all happen and it would be impossible to stop her because of where she lives and when she takes it. The young man tells Xena that she took it because her father was going to make her marry someone else. He then prayed to Cupid to help him. Cupid then told him that he would make it so the next day would not come to the village so his love would not die. He then tells Xena it is not possible to do everything she needs to do all in one day and in the time it needs to happen in order to stop. Xena then goes to sleep with a still stunned and silent Gabrielle and Joxer just looking at her. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he wakes them up with a surprise, fresh goose eggs. Xena quickly runs past him, knocking him down in her wake. Xena runs as quickly as she can to the house of the young woman only to find she was seconds late. She then goes around town, seeming to live things up as the whole village erupts into fighting. Xena continues to do her lining up all through the town. Confident in herself, Xena leaves. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off in the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer goes to walk into the barn where Xena and Gabrielle are but Xena hits him with the door as she bursts it open. She then quickly throws her chakram. It travels across town and stops the old man from getting hit by knocking his cap off of his head which catches his attention and the horse drawn cart goes by, not hitting him, as he reaches down to pick it up. The chakram then travels to the house of the young woman just as she is about to drink the poison. The chakram hit’s the bottle, breaking it. Xena then arrives at the house, catching her chakram. The man asks if she can make peace between the village and she then runs off. The older men in the village shake hands and say they are willing to talk about peace. The young couple are happy that they may get to marry and that there will be peace. It’s a bright and beautiful morning. Off into the distance, a rooster is cock-a-doodle-dooing. Joxer walks into a barn where Xena and Gabrielle are sleeping and he wakes them up with a surprise. While he is standing there, Xena is looking at him in amazement that it seems to be happening again. He then tells them his surprise, fresh turnips. Xena is ecstatic that it didn’t happen again. A man with a hammer accidentally drops it onto Joxer, knocking him down. Xena and Gabrielle laugh at him.
