  • The Police Officer (called “Johnno” by the Watch Commander) was assigned as an accident investigator to the case when David Platt ran down Graeme Proctor on Victoria Street in October 2010. David was breathalysed but the results proved negative. At Weatherfield General, Tina McIntyre told the investigator that she suspected that it was a deliberate attack and that David had never forgiven Graeme for becoming an item with her - David's ex. Grandmother Audrey Roberts also had to admit that David had taken her car without her permission. He then worked with DC Redfern who heard of the feud between the three and was with the CID officer when David was arrested for attempted murder. Graeme recovered after an operation. David was charged with attempted murder but was released when it was confirmed that he suffered from a rare form of epilepsy and had suffered a blackout at the time that he was driving. He was later was one of the officers deployed to the Street in December 2010 when it was rocked by an explosion from The Joinery bar, followed by a derailed tram from the wrecked viaduct. The Watch Commander instructed the Officer to seal off the area as the raging fires and structural damage showed that it wasn’t safe for people. The Officer stayed behind the blue tape as the night wore on, trying to keep anxious friends and relatives back. He later refused to allow Chesney Brown access to 5 Coronation Street to collect belongings, much to the relief of John Stape who'd had to leave the body of stalker Charlotte Hoyle inside there after he had attacked her with a hammer. The officer was credited as "Accident Investigator" in his first three appearances.
