  • Genius Collective are a seven piece Hip Hop Soul Funk band based in Birmingham, UK. Established in 2010, Genius Collective have developed a distinctive sound, merging genres and influences to create what Kevin Nottingham described as "a true blend of funky soul" . The band have had a number of digital releases to date, the most noteworthy being the double a-side release "The Hideout" f. Marika Diamond (Vocals) / Willis (Trumpet) and "Theory" f. Kezia Soul (Vocals) / Carvalho (Flute). The single was released through Street Soul Productions, the Birmingham based independent label on the 7th December 2011. "The Hideout" and "Theory" were released digitally via Bandcamp and also a limited edition run of 100 CD's. The release was celebrated at the official launch party at the Yardbird Jazz Club in Birmingham, UK.
