Asset Play is a term related to investments. It describes a situation when the market capitalization of a particular company is less than the assets held by the company. An Asset Player will try to spot such companies and buy the stocks as the general trend is that market capitalization becomes higher than the total assets of the company. In a sense, it is a speculative investment. However, there are many cases, when market price does not indicate the true value of company's assets and Asset Play is an important tool.
