| - Al's career spans over 40 years to include stage, film, and television. His most recent television appearances have been on Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Switched at Birth, and Bones. In all, he has appeared in more than 60 TV shows, 13 films, and 34 stage productions. Al's body of work began on the local stages of San Francisco's community theaters. He was also a company member of the renowned American Conservatory Theater (A,C,T.) for three years. Al appeared in more the 17 plays while with the company, a highlight of which was originating a character in Tennessee Williams' This Is (An Entertainment). Al also traveled with A.C.T. in 1976 to the Soviet Union for the Bicentennial Cultural Exchange where he performed in The Match Maker and Desire Under The Elms at the New Moscow Art Theatre and at theaters in Leningrad and Riga. He also originated the role of Memphis Lee in acclaimed playwright August Wilson's Two Trains Running, performing with the national tour for two years culminating with its Broadway run, for which he received a Theatre World Award for Best New Talent on Broadway.
