| - It was a quiet, peaceful day on Board 8, and we were up for a quiet, peaceful match between Mega Man and Serious Sam. Sam had little chance of winning, and most people knew this. Because of this, everyone got to sit back, relax, and enjoy themselves. ....right. It was one thing to see a killing in the first round, but seeing a similar maurauding in the second round against a character who actually won a match is a different animal altogether. What we witnessed from the onset of this match was a sight to behold, and everyone knew it. Through the entire match, the board was filled with cries of HE'S KILLING HIM! HE'S KILLING HIM! OHMYGAWD HE'S KILLING HIM! MEGA MAN IS A MONSTER! And honestly, who can blame them? Not only was Mega Man becoming the star of the contest, but he proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that he was a real threat to take down Sephiroth. Anyone who felt otherwise was deluding themselves. I could go on and on about how impressive Mega Man was in this match, but I don't need to. The numbers are clear as day, and the records that Mega Man set through the first two rounds have been well-documented by this point. To put it simply, Mega Man was the star of the contest after the first two rounds. The entire board went from a status of knowing him and not caring to hanging on his every move. It was quite the fun transition to watch, and even better was the fact that Mega Man had a chance of taking down Sephiroth. Aside from Mario vs Cloud, Mega Man vs Sephiroth became the match that everyone was waiting for. • Previous Match • Next Match
