Sergeant Paul Rivelle was under the command of Lt. Nielsen of Company G of the 1st Infantry Division, 16th Infantry Regiment. Around April 1950, Private Joseph Capelli shared some foul words with Lt. Nielsen which resulted in Capelli being dishonorably discharged out of the army and reassigned for six weeks of manual labor by Rivelle. Rivelle clearly shared his disapproval of Capelli's attitude and hoped that the Private's reassignment would teach him to control his mean streak.
