Teinin (literally "Spy Ninja") are a rank even higher than jounin, only the village’s strongest jounin become Teinin. They are chosen by the village's kage (sometimes it is a joint decision between the kage and the village elders). They serve as the Kage's personal bodyguards (and secret police) and are used to dispatch enemy shinobi and to infiltrate enemy villages. Currently the only villages that have Teinin are: Araregakure, Arashigakure, Jiseigakure, Joukigakure, Kesshougakure, Netsugakure and Tenkugakure.
