Les tells Cilla in no uncertain terms that he doesn't want her anymore, she must get out of the house and that he's back with Janice. Cilla turns on the charm but Les isn't taken in. Karen prepares Steve's birthday surprise, oysters and champagne. When he doesn't show up she storms round to the Rovers and is incensed to find him drinking with Liz. Kevin's hoping for a romantic evening and is furious when he gets called out on a breakdown and Sally insists the business must come first. Les, Kirk, Janice and Leanne let themselves into No.5 and carry an unsuspecting Cilla in her chair, out on to the Street and dump her there. Cilla's fuming, especially when a smiling Rita walks past and says "Goodnight, Cilla".
