- Hooktail is the first chapter boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. She is an enormous red dragon who terrorizes the village of Petalburg just for her own entertainment.
- Hooktail was a rat Captain in the horde of Urgan Nagru. He lost an ear to Muta. Hooktail was hit by an arrow after being knocked out the gatehouse window by Mariel's Gullwhacker. However, he survived and was given orders by Silvamord after.
- Hooktail is a bright red and yellow female dragon who first appeared as a boss in the game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the Nintendo GameCube. During the game, you learn that the dragon has come to the town of Petalburg multiple times to eat the residents, also, many have gone to Hooktail's castle to slay her, but failed in doing so and have been engulfed by the mighty dragon. Hooktail can't stand anything that sounds like a cricket, which will come in handy later on in the boss fight.
- Hooktail is a dragon in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door that once terrorized Petalburg. She ate all of its residents who came to her castle to slay her, like Kolorado's Father, Old Man Skoo, and Koops' dad. Mario and Goombella first encounter the dragon in Petal Meadows, where you see her shadow pass over the area. When Mario, Goombella and Koops came to her castle to obtain the first Crystal Star, the Diamond Star, they were given a clue on how to defeat Hooktail once they found the dead body of Kolorado's father-- Hooktail cannot stand chirping sounds, especially ones that start with cr- and end with -icket.
