A template is a message that is located somewhere on the Mozilla Community that can be used on another Mozilla Community page by adding the name of the template (syntaxed like {{templatename}}) to the page. Whenever the template is changed on its external location, it changes on all the pages it has been placed on, which makes it useful as both a shortcut and for style (simular to SSI). To produce the text of a template, but not have it look like {{templatename}} when you edit the page, type {{subst:templatename}}
