The Warden, companions (permanent and temporary), and summons/pets start with 2 'tactics slots' at level 1, and gain free additional slot at levels: 3, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. More slots can be acquired by assigning Skill points into Combat Tactics, such as the Magi Origin at the beginning or Wynne when she joins the Warden.
