Telephos I was the seventh Emperor of the Heracleidae Empire, reigning from 880 - 865 BC, and the son of the previous ruler, Perséas II. His short reign was a constant struggle for supremacy between the Emperor and the nobility and provincial lords, which resulted in his untimely assassination in 865 BC. He was succeeded by his son Astyanax I.
