Gas giants are planets made mostely from volatiles, typically with large masses and low densities. Gas giants are the only commercial source of 3He: As of 2611 most settled systems of the Confederation include at the very least one cloudscoop operation, usually run by Edenists, attended by a proportional number of bitek habitats.
