According to Mitsuru, he is a fan of Kamen Rider V3 and Kamen Rider Amazon in his childhood and enjoyed his acting as Katsumi in the movie. He also added that the scene in said movie, where Katsumi and his members ambushed a group of militants in the forest is an allusion to Kamen Rider Amazon's hunting skills. He confirmed via Twitter that he did not reprise his role as Eternal in the video game Super Climax Heroes, but stated that if he is asked, he would be willing to reprise the role. In Dengeki PlayStation magazine, it was revealed that Matsuoka reprised his role as Kamen Rider Eternal in Kamen Rider: Battride War II. His new band EARNEST DRIVE (sometimes abbreviated to MMED) sung the theme song for Kamen Rider Drive, SURPRISE-DRIVE. When being asked about what he want to be in 20 years later, Mitsuru answered that he wanted to become the Toei Company's president. He wrote and composed the song Sing my song for you ~ Sayonara no Mukōgawa Made, the theme song for Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Drive & Gaim: Movie War Full Throttle.
