Dan is the son of legendary St. Louis Blues broadcaster Dan Kelly, the nephew of hockey and baseball broadcaster Hal Kelly and the younger brother of current St. Louis Blues TV broadcaster John Kelly. Kelly was let go by the Blackhawks after two seasons. The move was made in order to make room for Pat Foley, who had been their play-by-play broadcaster for the previous 25 seasons, and had been let go in an unpopular and controversial decision. [1]
