Sir Charles Hastings (January 11, 1794 – March 21, 1866) was a physician and founder of the British Medical Association, originally Provincial Medical and Surgical Association in 1832. He was an authority on chest diseases and wrote numerous scientific papers. He was knighted in 1850. He died March 21, 1866 Oxford Dictionary of National Biography article by P. W. J.
