Mighty Maverick was introduced in the 1970 Hot Wheels line-up. Based on the 1970 Ford Maverick with alot more flare. Interesting how the Ford And Hot Wheel came out the same year. Hot wheels released the 1968 Corvette before Chevrolet did. It was named the "Mad Maverick" during the building of the prototype & tool & die stage and was possibly released with this name. A few models exist. The name changed due to Johnny Lightning having a car named the same and it looked like the car from the movie "Mad Max" Released with a large plastic wing on the rear, hood that opened.
