- The Nanking Massacre or also known as the Rape of Nanking was a central moment of Second-Sino Japanese War. The massacre displayed to the world that the Japanese Empire were completely heartless and evil. Modern historians can only estimate how many Chinese men and women were raped, tortured, or killed in the event. America's image of Japan was instantly turned negative and after Nanking lots of Anti-Japanese propaganda started to circulate in the media.
