  • Devilfish (formerly Giant Octopod) is a monster who appears in IV.
  • The Devilfish is a transport vehicle used by the Tau, it can carry up to 12 warriors. A Devilfish is always a dedicated transport, only ever carrying its designated unit which can be either a Fire Warrior team or a Pathfinder team. As all Tau vehicles, the Devilfish utilizes anti-grav technology and jet engines to move around the battlefield. All Devilfish are armed with a burst cannon and can also be armed with either a pair of gun drones or a smart missile system.
  • Devilfish are aggressive creatures found in the waters of Na Pali. Upon seeing the player, they swim toward the player menacingly and make an attempt to bite him or her.
  • Devilfish are rays, fish with flattened bodies and wing-like fins, which inhabit Devilfish Strait which is named after them. They are drawn to ships, often swarming around any vessel that enters their watery domain. Despite their fierce looks, they don't seem overtly aggressive unless provoked.
  • Devilfish are cunning and intelligent predators, solitary hunters that rightfully possesses a fearful reputation in the minds of those who ply Golarion's waterways. Surrounded by tales both factual and mythical in origin, these hateful creatures appear only when they feel the urge to kill and feed.
  • Devilfish are first encountered on the 4th floor of the Waterfall Woods. Devilfish look like purple Fanged Fish, but they are far stronger. They use Sharp Fang, a skill that does more damage than a normal attack. Devilfish also use Ferocious Fish, which damages the entire party. However, Ferocious Fish can only be used together with two Fanged Fish, which is not that much of a problem for these violet critters, since they can call more back-up in the form of two Fanged Fish.
  • However, Devilfish are not only used to merely ferry troops to the frontlines. In addition to the fearsome firepower provided by its Burst Cannon, a Devilfish is often on hand to extract Tau troops should enemy formations be in a position to overwhelm the Tau gunline, or if the Tau Commander decides that a tactical withdrawal is necessary. Given the Tau’s loathing of close combat, a common tactic is to redeploy their gun lines when enemy units approach; whisking troops out of harm’s way to setup new firing perimeters elsewhere on the battlefield. This re-embarking and relocation tactic allows Pathfinders to escape encirclement and helps Fire Warriors keep their foes at arm’s length, better enabling them to whittle down the enemy with repeated volleys of pulse fire. In this way, they enable
  • The Devilfish is the Awakened version of the manta ray. It has a "wingspan" of 8.0 meters, and has a black dorsal surface with white markings on the ventral surface. It has a long tail with a venomous spine. Devilfish can swim rapidly and are known to "glide" in the air by leaping out of the water for distances as long as 100 meters. The devilfish hunts smaller fish, and is not aggressive toward larger creatures in general. It has the innate magical ability to cause fear, although the precise mechanism or purpose of this ability is unknown.
