The Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure (Next Gen NII), being developed by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, will support bandwidth-intensive activities as Singapore increases in sophisticated usage of infocomm, and ensuring a secure and trusted infocomm environment, which will complement the country's role as a major global telecommunications and transcable hub where regional submarine cable systems and international cable systems interconnect. It will provide ultra-high speed broadband access of 1Gbps and more, and will also enhance the resilience of the economy against cyber threats.
