Synopsis
  • Middle-aged George Crandall finishes watching an old vampire movie. The movie makes him realize how unfulfilling his life has been, and how he would love the opportunity to live forever as an undead vampire. He researches the matter and actually finds a classified ad submitted by an alleged vampiress named Mina. George goes to meet with Mina and asks her to turn him into a vampire. Crandall believes that the inherent weaknesses that comes with being a vampire are a small price to pay for immortality. Mina does in fact turn out to be a real vampire and tells George that he will die, then rise from the grave in three days time. She drinks his blood and George falls over. Three days later at his funeral, George Crandall lies impatiently in his casket. He cannot wait for the opportunity when he will be able to rise from the dead as a vampire. Unfortunately, what he doesn't realize until it is too late is that his wife is having his casket cremated. George begins to pound on the coffin lid as it slides into the crematorium.
  • Outside the Clandestine Lighthouse in Malevolence, Maine, Michael Morbius attacks a passerby named Jason Knight. He drinks his blood and returns to the boarding house where he is staying with his friend Amanda Saint. Morbius has pledged himself towards helping Amanda find her mother, who has been linked with the Demon-Fire cult. Nearby, Amanda's mother "Sister Saint" addresses the leader of the Demon-Fire cult, Blood-Tide. She tells Blood-Tide that her daughter is in town with Michael Morbius. Blood-Tide promises to destroy Morbius for all of the problems he has caused them of late. Blood-Tide then has a secret meeting with a one-armed man named Oliver. Oliver lives at the boarding house where Morbius and Amanda are staying and he orders him to kill Amanda. Oliver attempts to decapitate her with his hook prosthetic, but Morbius blocks him and throws him through a window. Morbius and Amanda know that they are no longer safe and are now on the run. While racing down an alleyway, they run into their landlady Mrs. Agnes. Clearly a member of the Demon-Fire cult, Mrs. Agnes comes at Morbius with an ax. Morbius fights back and disarms her. The old woman falls backwards and the sharpened end of the ax embeds itself in the ax. Upon closer inspection, Morbius discovers that the old woman is actually Amanda's mother in disguise.
