The source of these terrors was a mystery to him, until he and the remaining sailors were ambushed in the middle of the night by what he described in his diary as 'two dozens of small, furry creatures'. Ogden was the only one to survive the onslaught, but continued exploring the peninsula. After some days, he found a cave housing a friendly outcast of these creatures, Sinatuki, and learned that they were called Chakoyas. His presence on the island was noted by some less friendly Chakoyas, however, and not long afterwards Ogden was killed.
