As a child she liked books about horses. On her eighth birthday she had her first pony. Her first novel was a black horse (1998). Career[Edit] In 1977, Macrae Esther known to the general public for her role in the film soldier of Orange. In 1979, she recorded a single titled The Last Disco. As a lyricist, she has contributed much to the repertoire of Rob de Nijs. In the 80 's and 90 's, she worked a lot together with composer and arranger Gerard Salai. Maddox wrote among other things the hits hold me (1981), everything breathes (1985) and Banger heart (1996). In 2001 received Meuldijk a Golden Harp for her entire body of work as a writer. To this body of work are now ten books and two volumes, including her latest book, Papa Pipo, that appeared in 2011. Politics[Edit] Maddox has been working for years in animals, in particular for Peoples Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). About this she made four films, which were broadcast by the TROS . For the European elections 2004 and the Dutch general election, 2006 she stood as lijstduwer candidate for the party for the animals. Private Life[Edit] MacRae was married to Rob de Nijs since 1984 with whom she has two sons got. They have about their youngest son following his autism a song written. Maddox and Darcy went in 2006 from each other. In 2011 she is married to Thierry Duval.
