During the foundation of Iwagakure, the Futekina clan was allied of the First Tsuchikage of the Kamizuro clan to build the village in the Land of Earth. Many of the engineers and architects of the village were members of this clan, but after constant conflicts with Mū (who later became the Second Tsuchikage), Daitan Futekina, then leader of the clan, decided to leave Iwagakure and migrate to the Land of Stone, where he founded Ishigakure, welcoming renegade ninjas and bankrupt clans from various parts of the world.
