In Savage Empire, the Avatar arrived in Eodon to prevent this, succeeding in killing the Myrmidex Queen inside the Myrmidex Caves, and destroying the Moonstone. Once the Queen died, all other Myrmidex became oblivious to their surroundings due to lack of leadership.
