abstract
| - Vedros was a gas giant in the Gorrik system of the Kelltae sector in the Unknown Regions and a possession of the Golden Empire. It was considered a crucial Royal resource world, as it was an abundant source of tibanna, which was necessary for the lasers and turbolasers of the Armada. Following the acquisition of Vedros in 101 ABY, Queen Rin Sakaros formally declared the planet itself a possession of the government, with all its resources becoming government property, thereby establishing right to both the tibanna and the rights to mine it. Vedros had twenty-three moons, three of which (Vedros IV, VI, and XIV) were habitable. These moons were each added to the Empire as member "worlds" independent of one another, despite not being actual planets. The acquisition of Vedros was considered one of the major contributing factors to the Golden Empire's victory in the Great Liberation, as it allowed the Empire to unleash the full might of the Armada against the Tetrarchy of Mezlagob. Vedros itself lay outside the domain of the Tetrarchy; the Prime Fleet discovered it entirely by accident while searching for a place to recover from battle.
