The Daimyo-class Battleship first saw action in approximately 25 BBY, and was eventually phased out in favour of the more cost-effective Kusarigama-class Frigate. As of 15 ABY, only one still survived in Guard hands: Gideon, formerly the flagship of Kai'to Musashi. It was heavily damaged in the Battle of Joy and was later decommissioned honourably. An updated version, the Guardian-class Battlecruiser, is the standby ship of the modern Jade Empire.
